Meditation & Mindfulness

Sustaining creativity and clarity

Designing and making everything from a garden to a business draws on our personal creativity and ability to envisage a future potential.

Focusing and being ‘in flow’ are valuable skills for solo and collaborative activities. Meditation and mindfulness offer a variety of techniques to bring you into greater self-awareness, revitalise your natural creative abilities, and find your own sense of peace and stillness.

Creating clear and calm physical and mental spaces

Ideas seem to flow more easily when we can bring our awareness to the present moment, and leave our worldly concerns to one side.

That doesn’t mean that thoughts and feelings won’t come up; we can learn to notice them without letting them disturb our attention.

Being able to enjoy your work and life with calmness and openness, can help to keep doubts and distractions at bay.

Why bring meditation and mindfulness practices into your life and workspaces?

Meditation and mindfulness practices offer a practical foundation for directing and focusing your attention.

Mindful movement, grounding your body through your senses and attending to your breath, are some of the building blocks for noticing where your attention is, and where you’d like it to be.

These skills are a companion to your existing technical skills and knowledge, not a substitute. And with practise, these times of greater self-awareness can assist with recognising and reducing symptoms of stress from our inner and outer environments. Clarity, calmness and creativity are easier to reach when our inner states and physical surroundings are in harmony.
